Where is the news about the planned changes?

Hello, there are ideas - what are we missing.

I can’t seem to find the answer to what is planned… What are the chances of.

I had an Exquis from Thomann, idea 6/5, execution 4/5… I gave it back after testing it.

The two main reasons? Stiff, too hard keys, it makes it difficult to play fast,
when there is no feeling of the key giving way under the finger, I play with my hands not my ears.
Were there different versions with different key ‹ response ›? Curves aren’t everything.

No backlighting w/ midi input. For me it’s important to « see » the music, e.g. to see the
vocals played through the Pefect Pitch. Makes it brilliantly easy to create accompaniment. If I bought two I would like to have on one, for example, a highlight of what I’m playing on the other.

One of these two and I am coming back to these cities for your product.
Both and I’m coming back for a couple of pieces!

Greetings,
Kajetan

Hi, not sure I get your frustation with the hardness of the keys (I am a fast player myself), but there won’t be other silicones. Apart from the curves there is a key trigger threshold you can also set.

The score displayed on the keys is already there via MIDI; it is showing duplicates notes today, and will be optimised for Exquis layout (no duplicates) very soon, as it is already in the alpha firmware.
And it will be implemented in the Exquis app (allowing to send the score of any clip) in a few months.

Hello Serguei.

I bought Exquis again. I returned it last time, but the interesting concept won me over… I bought it and:

A big plus for adding backlighting, which seems natural in a controller like this.

I managed to trigger the instruments by plugging an additional Xjam controller into the MIDI port. It remembers the CC codes even after being turned off.

However, I have a problem because I got a copy with a wonderfully springy keyboard, not like the previous ones with stiff like plastic rubber keys. Why is this a “problem”? Because I want to buy 2-3 more Exquis - BUT - I would like them to be as soft as the last one.

No, I don’t mean the adjustable volume curve, but the physical “response” of the key to finger pressure. And it’s not just “seemed” to me - the previous controller had keys as stiff as plastic with minimal deflection, this one has nice springy rubber keys. The difference is not marginal, but very significant for the pleasure of playing on it. I have fingers trained by 40 years of pressing various keys…

I don’t believe the assurance that “they are all the same.” I would sooner believe that I bought a “warehouse model” from Thomann and that the rubber hardens over time, which would be very unpleasant. Or perhaps the manufacturer makes the keys from different materials.

Best regards,
K.K.

Hello
Asking the team, we would not say that the silicone hardens (or softens) over time, or that there are major differences between silicones; I am still surprised you noticed one, but who knows, maybe there indeed was a (very few?) different silicone mat(s) in the production we did not notice?

(In the very worst case scenario indeed you can return units to Thomann easily)

Ok, I must have been unlucky the first time.
The second piece from Thomann arrived and it too is soft.
Pozdrawiam,
K.K.
