I notice that even when I shut down my computer the Exquis lights remain on.
It would be good to be able to turn off the lights without having to actually unplug the Exquis USB. (This would be similar to pressing Shift-(Lower Right Square) on a Launchpad Pro.)
There’s no upside to either a) repeatedly plugging/un-plugging USB connections, or b) leaving the lights always « burning ».
So, I hope perhaps this can be implemented in a future FW update. Thanks.
I’d like this too, but I don’t think there’s really a way to fix it. As long as your computer is sending power to the Exquis through that USB port then the Exquis will treat that as a power source and stay on. If the Exquis turned off whenever your computer was off then you wouldn’t be able to use it to control another midi device while powering it from an AC adapter or battery pack.
Hi Sergueï, I remember asking the same fonctionality some months ago.
There is any possibility to add a shortcut (suggestion : settings + 4th encoders) on the Exquis to turn OFF the light quickly ? (for an iPad, your tips doesn’t works for example). For my case, I miss this functionality.
have a nice day,
Sorry to necro the thread - I ended up putting a USB switch to fix the problem for now, but given just how much light the Exquis puts out, it would be amazing to have an auto-lights-off setting such that if it hasn’t been touched in, say, 10 minutes, all the pads go dark and maybe leave only the settings button on to indicate the device is still on.
The alternative is I can make a lil’ script I can run to send SysEx to turn the LEDs off when not in use and run it host side, but that seems a hacky solution to what I’m sure is a problem for others.
For me, this doesn’t work. I use this computer for many things, it’s not a matter of it being a problem when the computer is asleep/off, it’s while it’s on and I’m using it, but not for music production.
I see. Then, a USB switch might be an option, as Vega mentioned above. In my case, when I work with Davinci Resolve (colour grading suite and video editor), I use the USB C port for an external SSD where the footage is stored. Problem solved by itself, so to speak.
