If the Exquis App itself could be made to run as a VST/VST3 instrument, that would make it more useful in a DAW-centered production workflow.
Ideally, the Exquis VST would receive from the DAW host
- tempo and MIDI stop/start messages
- loop and snap on/off automation messages
- audio in (to pass to the plugins inside Exquis app that use it, e.g. Surge)
- plugin automation?
and it would transmit
- audio (multichannel, arbitrary number of stereo pairs)
- MIDI? some DAWs like Reaper can handle many « tracks » of 16-channel MPE MIDI
