Exquis feature request: Standard pitchbend option with poly aftertouch

It would be great if there was an option to send standard pitchbend and mod wheel on the x and y axis when in poly aftertouch mode.

Here’s a hack : use the Exquis in MPE mode with only one channel (hold settings button, go to page two by clicking on the « redo » right arrow, then click on the first encoder until its light is blue, and turn it left until one hexagon is lit)

All notes, pitchbend, CC74, and aftertouch will be sent to channel 2. The oldest note you play will be the only one turning white, this will be the one you can bend to affect all other notes.

The hack, seems to us the best method, as how would you interpret in PolyAftertouch mode, two opposite pitch bend message, coming from two keys? Which one to consider?

I have to try that :astonished:

I will try the hack. I was working on a Logic Pro Scripter script that would convert mpe pitchbend to standard pitchbend by averaging the pitchbend of held notes. In the process I discovered a Scipter bug related to pitchbend. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update. The third option which might make sense is to send the pitchbend value of the active note with the largest absolute value.

Yes, it can be a solution, but for all this kind of question, it’s hard to say « it is THE solution », because sometimes a solution for one is a problem for another… . We’ll figure it a bit later, and we have added it to the list of things to consider.

this did not work because exquis send the 2 pitch message bytes in wrong order. maybe it work on mac but not on windows. On windows you need swap the bytes then it can work. i have add screenshots in this thread. you can see clear byte order is wrong. I report this but get no answer . is this fixed now ? Studio one 5.5.2 with enabled mpe. many synths do no pitch bend or aftertouch in the second screenshot i show how the midi messages for piutch bend are correct with the xkey 37
